As I continue to develop my understanding of natural earth colours and as my aim is, increasingly, to be as sustainable as I can in my art practice, my foraging for earth colours has become more focused. The South West of England is mineral rich and as such provides me with a wealth of beautiful natural colour not far from my home.

My research into the development of colour wheels and colour nomenclature has inspired an appreciation of how, from just a few pure pigments, so many different vibrant and subtle hues can be created.

These are now being painted solely on Two Rivers handmade cotton rag paper. This paper is made in the traditional way, at the Two Rivers paper mill at East Quay, Watchet, on the Somerset coast.
