……working with earth to create paintings inspired by the Earth…….

I am a landscape artist living near the coast in North Somerset. Using natural earth, mineral and botanical pigments my aim is to evoke the timeless geology at the water's edge. Becoming a more ecologically aware artist, using sustainable materials as much as I can, has become a natural part of my practice.

Working mindfully and often intuitively allows for a deeper connection to the land. Walking, observing, gathering earth, sieving earth, making paint and then painting, inspired by that same landscape, is a grounding, cyclical process.

Through my work I aim to offer a quiet moment of reflection and awakening.

Every rock we touch is the emissary of timescales we cannot begin to comprehend without confronting our own transience, and yet radiating from it is also the quiet assurance that the world goes on and on, that we are part of something vast and magnificent, that beneath all the tumult and turmoil of our human lives there is a steadfast continuity that anchors life to eternity.
